The Trang An Heritage and Scenic Landscape Complex is located on the southern edge of the Red River Delta in Ninh Binh Province, covering an area of 6,226 hectares and a buffer zone of 6,026 hectares, in the districts of Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, Nho Quan and Tam Diep City, Ninh Binh. The heritage site consists of three areas: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Historical and Cultural Relic Site, Trang An – Tam Coc – Bich Dong Scenic Landscape Complex, and Hoa Lu Special-Use Forest; containing all the unique landscape values and related cultural values.

Visiting Route
The best way to explore Trang An Heritage is by boat. When coming to Trang An, visitors will be immersed in the majestic natural landscape with limestone mountains and clear streams flowing through caves. Each boat usually carries 4-5 people, if your group is less than 4 people, you will have to share the boat with others. There are several routes, each of which offers unique experiences and landscapes, below are a few suggested routes.

Trang An Route 1: Visitors will explore 9 caves and 4 spiritual sites in about 3.5 hours. Route 1 moves from the boat pier and visits destinations such as Trinh Temple – Toi Cave – Sang Cave – Nau Ruou Cave – Tran Temple – Ba Giot Cave – Dry Cave – Son Duong Cave – Khong Palace – Bao Hieu Pagoda – Quy Hau Cave and returns to the boat pier.

Trang An Route 2: The journey will last about 2.5 hours, including 4 caves and 3 spiritual sites, moving from the boat dock through Lam Cave – Vang Cave – Thanh Truot Cave – Suoi Tien Temple – Dai Cave – Vu Lam Palace – Aboriginal Village and returns to the boat pier.

Trang An Route 3: This route has been exploited since 2017, lasting about 3-3.5 hours. Visitors will explore 3 caves and 3 spiritual sites with a stalactite system longer than 1000m. This route passes through the following locations: boat pier – Trinh Temple – May Cave – Suoi Tien – Dia Linh Cave – Hang Dai – Vu Lam Palace – Aboriginal Village, then returns.

You can choose the route that suits your interests and needs. In addition, according to the experiences of many previous tourists, you can choose to visit Trang An by taking route 3 and returning by route 2 or combining routes 2 and 3 to be able to visit the special features of both routes.
